An exhibition about the Beatons of Pennycross was to be held in the Pennyghael Community Hall from Saturday May 30th to Saturday June 13th 2020.  Sadly, COVID 19 meant that we had to cancel this opportunity to find out about the origins of the family; their association with the powerful Lords of the Isles; their medical training; their Library of priceless Gaelic manuscripts; their formidable knowledge of classical medicine combined with their use of local herbal traditions and the establishment of one of the earliest physick gardens in Scotland.

We hope to be able to reschedule this when possible.
